I've seen a few high orange babies for sale. Will they retain any of that orange as adults??
Thanks
Steve

usually not. The blaze line holds it better but even there it is not assured.

The blaze does hold it a bit better but some people I know
have been working with a line that holds the color much longer into adulthood.
Maybe Zenny will read this and post a rather red one he has from that guy.
I think it's a young adult and still very colorful?
I've lost the breeder male that was the genisis of this I believe and it will be at least a year before I get the hold backs up and running.
It's strange with the goini. One year I'm into a colorful look and then again I like the wild more subdued look the following year.
Keeps it interesting, I guess.

I need to work up all the eastern type kings I got, the stripers are doing great, the two sister goini are like night and day, totally different personalities and looks. I'll get some pics up.

Generally "high orange" goini fade dramatically into adulthood.
I have a male from Mark K. "Crimsonking" that has held a fair amount of color.
I think i know which goini you are referring to... was it a lone photo of a really ORANGE hatchling (orange head pattern as well)? if so it looks like goini x Brooksi cross.
Unless you saw the Het Blaze from TonyD... those are NICE!!! and being het blaze they are a great project.
Here's my male from Mark.

Z that snake rocks! ONe of the great misteries to me is that nobody has snapped up that rio you. If it goes on much longer I may loose my will power and keep that group too!

Yeah i really like this male... he will not touch my blaze female at all... i can't understand it?!
I'll just leave them together all season.
About your trio:
After raising snake to a certain size, you might as well keep um... especially when it's something like this (improving a morph)... At least you'll be the 1st to see all your hard work pay off.

"he will not touch my blaze female at all"
maybe he's defective....better send him back.

More like he's intimidated... my blaze female is pretty large compared to this male... he was running away from her at 1st, now he just wont "touch" her.
either way this is too good of a project to let go

Z to be honest I think I would try line breeding the outlandishly most excellent red female first. Looks to me like that animl could be a morph of sorts in its own right.

Tony
I remember looking at that trio. Can you send the pictures to me along with what a nice adult blaze looks like?

Thanks

Here are two that I think are average. These came straight from GCR. Other's are a generation or so ahead of me breeding this trait into other high red lines.
