I live in Central Illinois and I found this snake under a wooden sign on the ground, it is about 8 inches long.

I believe that is an eastern milk snake. I grew up in central Illinois and never found one of these guys. Nice snake.

Its really pretty snake, I plan on keeping him. What should i feed him? It is too small for pinky, i put small crickets in there and it was scared of them.

cut the head off of a frozen pinky before you thaw it.

the great thing about frozen meals is that you don't have to serve the whole meal. You can give him an appetizer. I've fed the tails from fuzzies to small snakes.
