Awesome Orthriophis taeniurus taeniurus! My favorite sub of the beauties. I like them in all of their phases and morphs.

Thanks, and I agree. I like all the beauties, even the ones that don't like me. In my collection of about 40 snakes, it's between this guy and a big male blue as to who's the nastiest.

That's weird, because the Chinese are supposed to be one of the more gentle forms. Mine are all pretty flighty, and sometimes a little hissy, but rarely bite. Once in a blue moon, one will get a little extra offended and give a nip. Just goes to show that even the snakes which are supposed to be docile have their hellspawns too. LOL I have a female cornsnake which is, hands down, the meanest snake in my collection. I actually kind of like that about her, though. LOL

My female chinese beauty is super docile and has been since the hatchling stage. The male is getting a little better and I'm handling him a little more so we'll see. He still musks, almost every time handled, which really bothers me more than being tagged. I'm used to being a pin cushion I guess.
Nice! I think that is the lightest yellow T. taeniura I've ever seen.

Thanks Randy, he is a nice one. Kind of looks a little like a Moquards in color, don't you think?
Just what I was thinking. It definatly shares some color traits and some others too. Don't take it wrong as it's a beautiful taeniura period but do you think it's a chance it might be a mocquardi or are you fairly certain it's a t. taeniura.

The history on these is uncertain to say the least. I saw a table at a show with some striking baby beauty's being advertised as farm raised taiwans. I assumed they were chinese. I never thought about the possibility of these being moquard's. There were several of these hatchling's that were eye catching yellow. The males were nicer, similar to my experience with Taiwans. I recall wanting to buy a bunch of them but settled with a pair. I'll have to try and get a good shot of the female.
I would guess Mocquardi. Very nice looking beauty!
