Egg-bound update

dave15run May 11, 2009 07:46 AM

I gave her several warm baths and a large fuzzy. She ate the mouse but still has not passed the egg. She has been egg-bound since Wednesday. I guess I have resigned myself to losing her. She gave me a dozen nice eggs.

If you have any ideas that may help I would appreciate it. She is right at 3 feet and was previously healthy. Now is stays curled up in her nest box (shoe box size). I have moss that I keep moist. The temp range is 87 to 72. Thanks in advance.

Yes, please just take her to a vet.
My creamsicle was eggbound two years ago, just one egg, and she was in and out the vet's office in 30 minutes.
She was fine.

is the stuck egg AT the vent?
if not how far up into her is it from the vent?

....if at the vent it can be pushed out...easy
if up...it will need to be aspirated...then it should come out..

...they do not have to die....

some will....some take awhile to do it...

but getting the eggs out is not that hard usually...

and I imagine that it is not a very pleasant death....

If she gave you a dozen eggs, she deserves some treatment.
