I was fortunate to spend some time in the field with Ross this season. His passion for Kingsnakes is great, and he really knows his stuff. I've learned alot from him about field herping and wild morphs but still feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

Here is a soon to be pair that was collected in the same field.
The male hyper (pictured first) was the best find of the year!

The color on this snake is interesting... his ventral area has no yellow at all. It's an off white / dirty cream color and the yellow in his bands is very faint as well.

Sorry about the lame box thing she's on... I really dig this girls simple, clean pattern and kind of wide yellow bands.

Thanks for the kind words, Byron, I appreciate it. That is a very good shot of the hyper. What a cool looking snake to find out in the wild. Funny thing is I showed my brother the picture and he said it was ugly. lol I guess you have to get out there in the field to really know how special it is to find one of these guys. Even the great Hubbs (lol) only found one this year. I look forward to getting out there with you again. Very cool kings, bro.

Both great looking snakes, esp. that male in the first pic. That female looks alot like the some of the ones I've found here in Chatsworth. Best of luck on the pairing. Keep us posted onthe results.
