Hey, what happeend with the last egg from your white female? Did she lay everything??

I have the same happening with my auriceps, she laid three enormous eggs the day before yesterday which I have since removed but I ca clearly see a further two at least, they look just as big, poor girl. IF she hasnt laid them by morning I think a trip to the vet is on the cards

Both of my gravid White Tank females still have eggs to lay. Both have laid 5 eggs over 4 days or so,one still has at least 2 left, and the other might have one. I have had to give supportive care because both started getting dehydrated and both look so thin! They won't cooperate with hand feeding, so because I have tons of experience with tube feeding, I am tubing them once a day with thin reptiaid and soaking them at least once a day in tepid to warmish water. That seems to be helping a lot, and one has laid an egg after soaks and feeding a few times. I'm afraid that they would both be dead without the feedings and soaks!

Their eggs are about half good and then half really bad, as in smelly, jelly like, and rotting really fast. One that seems good keeps developing fungus, and will be tossed if it doesn't quit!

Is this the first time having a gravid auriceps for you? I am just wondering if this is typical laying behavior for these western girls.

Well she reabsored her eggs last summer, my male wasnt mature (he is a runt, I dont think he will ever be big enough to pin her), the three she laid were enormous, but solid, and hardened when I got to them. Because the big male she is paired with was in the lay box, and because he bit me when I tried to pick him up to remove him, I'm wondering if she is upset that I took her eggs, or if she is paranoid he is going to harm them etc, I'm going to take him out this evening and put in a second lay box, see if she is happier in that one.

Eve is prolly your best bet to ask whether its common in the western species, she has a lot of the yellow heads. My Bicinctores never lay more than 3 per clutch, but their eggs too are enormous, i guess because they have more growing room with smaller numbers.

My Texan female laid on Friday too, but hers were 2xsolid and 5x squishy. The squishy ones turned mouldy but a little athletes foot powder applied with a mega soft paint brush fixed that, those 5 are a little deflated, but they are fertile, so thats a tad frustrating.

The auriceps wont take fluids from a dripper unless its crestie diet, so she's on that mixed with hydrolife, I just hope she lays these eggs pretty soon, feel so bad for her, she is out the lay box, but looking so tired all the time, and she hasnt eaten a thing since she started laying

Fingers crossed for you anyway sweets x

She has her head high, and they are so used to me tending to them now, that as soon as she sees me, she strains and tries to push out that last egg! She is a real little trooper! I hope she survives! As soon as she passes it, I will soak her and give her fluids. She is gonna need it!

My NM Eastern female, Little Momma, has dropped two huge batches in a month and a half, and all but two or three are looking good. I have removed three that went concave and dried out in spite of the fact that the verm is plenty moist. They were just bad, but the others have doubled in size and should start hatching next week. One has nearly tripled, and I bet its a little Tayo! LOL! He is a big boy! She started digging and once she started contractions, she was done! Nothing like these poor WT girls.
