gecko breeding

i have a pair of breeders that were just going at it.How long do they have to be together to actually consive

If you actually witnessed copulation, they've probably done it also when you were not looking. Like humans, all it takes is once, but a few times is good to ensure a good result. Some pairs will breed like mad, non stop, and so I usually separate those pairs after some time to give the poor girls a break.

Be prepared for a gravid girl and eggs though. They will continue to lay a clutch about once a month for up to four or five clutches. So you will need to be ready to incubate eggs and to do so for more than once clutch. All that egg production can take a lot out of the female.

With my females, after I really know they are gravid, I usually separate out the males for the rest of the summer, and try to keep the females eating as much as I can.
