Thermostat query

anti May 12, 2009 01:44 PM

I've just received a Komodo Habitat Thermostat, and am not sure how to regulate it. It has a temperature dial but it does not have an arrow to mark exactly where it's pointing and it seems that you can keep moving it around forever....

How do I know where I need to set it to get the thermostat working at 90 degrees?

Do I need to do a trial and error exercise until I see the thermostat working to know where to set it?

Thanks

I never seen that one before? I imagine you have to play with it to get the temps you want then mark it. I took a look at it on Google, and one thing I noticed right off the bat is it seems to only be rated for 300watts..? Thats not much if you are using light bulbs or IR heaters. You might be OK with Flexwatt and rack/tub setup, but I would add up all the wattage you are heating on that line. You really dont want to run them right at their limit either. I am sure they are rated for 10-30% over, but I get nervous. Fires are a very real possibility with things like this.

Be careful please.

I will only be using it for a heat mat, so that should not be a problem...
