Ugghh...

This has been a sucky couple of days for me. I had a snake shipped to me in poor condition a little over a month ago, and despite all my efforts to try and nurse him back to health, he died this weekend. Today I was doing poop patrol, and discovered my best and favorite Pearl male, Periwinkle, dead. Wasn't even totally stiff yet, so had to have died in the past few hours. I have absolutely no clue why he died, as he was acting normally and eating and pooping. Due to money issues, I sold my other two '08 Pearls prior to this, so now I don't have any '08 Pearls. At least I still have my '07 Pearl pair.

I'm trying to find a vet that will do a necropsy for me, but so far no luck. Will keep trying... unfortunately my super awesome reptile veteranarian went to work somewhere else.

RIP Periwinkle

Aubrey,

Very sorry to hear this, especially about Periwinkle. Hopefully things will turn around for you soon.

Sorry again,
Ed

Yeah, but it still sucks. I found a place that will do a necropsy, so hopefully they can figure out why he died so abruptly.

I'm so sorry for your losses, especially your Pearl.

Tough times sure are going around. I hope things pick up for you soon.

Thanks Julie, at least I have seen some BRBs breeding, so maybe I'll get some babies in a few months to cheer me up.

Aubrey,
I'm sorry for your losses; that does suck. The pearl was a beautiful snake. Any chance there is a connection with the recent shipment that was in poor health? Anyway, chin up.
Paul

Thank you Paul. I don't believe the two deaths were related. The snake that came here in poor health was in quarantine, and I doubt he would have affected my baby BRBs. I found a place to do a necropsy though. I don't expect any conclusive results, but at least I'll have a chance of finding out why he died.
