Partial Yellow Egg Question.

Wallbanger26 May 12, 2009 10:52 PM

I'm a bit rusty and can't remember everything from the past few years. Bit of a mental meltdown if you will. So I had a girl lay an egg and then a week later lay 9 more. Half of the eggs candled well, the other half are half with veins and half yellow. So which side is going to win? The veins usually grow throughout the yellow or is this just a precursor to egg death inevitably? Thanks in advance.

Had a clutch like that this year -- with veins on one side and empty yellow on the other -- the veins grew through the eggs and they are now candling very normal looking.

Good luck!

I have very good luck with this kind of egg. I end up hatching 9 out of 10 of this kind but the offspring is usually smaller and requires a little more work to get them eating sometimes.
