Can we see a picture of the original paintball since you are showing the super? If you ever plan on marketing them your gonna need to show evidence of the genetics and how you produced them especially to call them "supers"...
Jbugg

kinderman May 14, 2009 05:41 PM

Many breeders who have a Super whose Het is visual choose not to show that het until the project is WELL underway -- for obvious reasons. Charles has one of those projects it seems. I would think that if someone were to purchase the Hets or a Super that someone would see them.

If Charles says the genes on the Hets and Super are good -- they are good. He has been around long/is visable enough to be taken at his word. That is all "I" would need to pull the trigger if I were in the market for the animal.

Dont get me wrong I wasnt questioning him or his project in anyway. Im just wondering if the normal paintballs are subtle looking like a yellowbelly or are more extreme.. I like them alot so sorry if I offended anyone.
Jbugg

kinderman May 15, 2009 08:34 PM

No worries...I am sure Charles is/was not offended. I would guess that the Hets are subtle AND have distinct identifiable markers -- if you know what to look for. I HAVE NOT seen them and could be totally wrong.

The reason I felt comfortable speaking for Charles is that I have a few proven things here that NOBODY has seen. I am working on Supers, combos, and hoping to figure out how variable they are and what they do with existing morphs. More and more breeders are working projects "deeper" in order to know what they do before going public full speed ahead -- a wise choice I think.

blah..none taken..next..lol

They range from vague to obvious. They do seem easier to pick out than a yb does..but then again i was never really good at picking out those damned subtle yellowbellys. lol
(That and i have been holding these back for several years before i got the supers...so..i dunno)...

I do know that the painted yellowbellys are obvious.:D

Hey Tom...I do have one female that looks alot like what you have there....perhaps they are just random in their level of pattern distortion(like that of the white on piebalds),and maybe they are a different line even?.who knows, but it is definitely similar...Here she is
picasaweb.google.com/coldthumb/SuperPaintball1F#

btw...here are the painted yellowbellys that i hatched out in 07 (,and had i put her 06 son with her that season instead..,then we three would all be par together on when and where.).
picasaweb.google.com/coldthumb/PaintedYellowbellys#

..Painted calicos are hatching out TODAY! :D
