Flea infestation

wccs2001 May 14, 2009 09:17 AM

we have a flea infestation in our house from dog/cats. over the counter (biospot, hartz, adams) and prescription (advantage, frontline) are not working. i'm going to try natural remedies now, but i've got to do the whole house. whatever i use, i'm going to have to sprinkle or spray in the carpet, let sit, then vacuum up.

what is and isn't safe for snakes?

my choices are talc powder (baby powder), salt, and peppermint oil.

I had the same issue;
My neigbor in the apartment I lived at the time was a hermit and he had like 30 cats (I'm exaggerating, but A LOT) and got the whole building infested. I ended up taking all my snakes outside and flea bombed. After the bomb, I opened every window, turned on all the fans, I cleaned out every tank, took extra care scrubbing water dishes to make sure there were no chemicles left over... Worked great, no more fleas!! If you do this though, make sure you do it on a nice day so they don't get too cold =)

I have used sevin powder to kill mites I believe it works with fleas. You have to treat all at the same time then repeat in about 10 days.
