not as vivid....

Hi guys....I'm sorry if I have been asking alot of questions lately but I'm a newbie and I want to learn as much as possible. But on to my question....I've had my dragon for a week I was wondering what are the signs that a shed is coming about? My dragons colors look as though they've gotten alot duller but maybe that is also because I'm waiting on my reptisun 5.0's 36" and my Powersun 100watt M.V bulb to get here and right now I do not have any UVB in my tank. Any info would be great. Thanks again, you guys are the best.

Their skin takes on a dull milky quality before shedding. Other signs may be a loss of appetite and a bit of an attitude.
You can help them shed by giving them warm soaks.

It is very important to have UVB bulbs, especialy for young dragons. As you don't currently have one I hope during the week you owned this dragon you have at least been properly supplimenting him using calcium with D3. If not supplimenting you should start now.

Additionally you can take him outside into direct sunlight to let him bask for an hour or so to ensure his health. (just make sure it isn't too hot or too cold outside, stay with him the entire time he is outside and make sure he has a hide or shaded area so he doesn't cook in the sun).

I have been dusting her breakfast crickets with Rep-Cal Phosphorus free Calcium with Vitamin D3. Today I dusted her breakfast with Rep-Cal calcium w/ d3 and her afternoon crickets with the Rep-Cal multivitamin. She got a mealworm for a snack.

...keep up the great work! Yes, they'll look less vivid before shedding.

This is a picture of my female Disa that is about to shed. On her it is very obvious since she is so orange! But the skin kind of looks "dull" = gray/whitish when they are about to shed.
