Feeding - Eggs?

kitt May 15, 2009 08:04 PM

Is it okay to feed kingsnakes boiled chicken eggs? On occasion they will eat eggs in the wild, so in captivity it wouldn't be much different, would it?

You can try. But I don't see the point in boiling the eggs.Raw eggs are much healthier than boiled or cooked. Raw eggs for people have a very good effect on health. So why heat the eggs for snakes?

OK.well.yes it would be OK....why???? really...why
raw eggs...better...BUT they smell like....like...like cleaned cold white balls...and kings really would not want to eat them...and they are too big...so again...why?

...so...IF you want to try eggs...raw and small...you would have to actually get quail eggs or pigeon eggs to have it happen without the snake choking it down...big kings might get it down...but I am not feeding that big....so

eggs...smaller(bantam chicken even) raw...and they have to be fresh and not cleaned...they have to be warm from under the bird and smell like the bird's...well...the bird's butt even...

salmonella....the percentage is so small...we humans just whine too much....and it's usually caused by a factory that has eggs using the same conveyors over and over and over again...year after year ...you get it....we create it...

so...unless you have or can get fresh bird smelling eggs...?

Oh wait...YES try whatever you like...let us know how you made out......raw and or boiled....(don't add Mayo)...

There are a lot of recent studies done on eating raw eggs that are contrary to poular beliefs. In the last couple years older people who ate raw eggs started getting more energy and have never been healthier. Same thing goes for people who were bedridden and eating a raw eggs diet started living life normal again.

I used to be aginst eating raw eggs becuse of possible samonella poisoning but the percetage is very low. You can also get eggs from free roaming chickens that have a much lower percentage of samonella.

The other reason I thought eating raw eggs is bad is because I heard if if you don't heat them, you can't assimulate the protein. But heating kills the avoden and other properties which make raw eggs so magical.

A raw eggs diet is becoming very popualr. But you need to start by drinking 5 or 6 eggs at a time and work up gradually. I have ben eating raw eggs for many years and never had salmonella poisoning. They are also almost tastless and you get used to the thought once you get poast a couple servings.

If you are going to feed a boild egg I think you would have to peel it first?

...That whole peeling the egg thing was a given. -.o and why egg?
simply because I like giving my animals a variety, instead of sticking to rats and mice all the time. I choose boiled simply because... a raw egg looks like it'd create more mess than needed. -.o
