A hypomelanistic albino is a sunglow but you were on the right track... all these 'glows' are getting confusing!

a snowglow/moonglow is a animal expressing the anerythristic hypomelanistic and amelanistic/albino traits all in one animal... regards

decaromorphs May 16, 2009 09:06 AM

My explainations are never short...lol.

A "Moonglow" is the name used for the "Kahl-line" Hypo Snows.

A "Snowglow" is the name used for the "Sharp-line" Hypo Snows.

It's just another way to distinguish to (2) "lines" of Albino that were used to produced either listed animal.

The terms Moonglow or Snowglow are names that describe a visual animal displaying all (3) of these traits at once..... Albino (either line), Anerythristic and Hypo......all rolled up into one.

Both lines are stunning!

Hope this helped-

Thanks! I was getting confused when I read some ads for "snowglows". I thought to myself, "isn't that a Moonglow"??? That makes total sense. Didn't enter my mind that the two different lines of albino could be the difference in the names. I agree with someone above that wrote that all of these "glow" names are getting confusing, but then again, who wants to type out "hypomelanistic anerythristic albino, Sharp (or Khal) line" all the time!!!

Thank you to all that replied to help me understand! Ya learn something new every day.
