Unwanted baby roach in my kritter keeper

zach220 May 15, 2009 11:52 PM

Hi,
I am keeping one of my crested geckos really damp with not great light in a critter keeper. Today I found a baby roach in there. I live in nyc and it could turn into a real problem- What are the chances it came from my bulk supplier and there is anyway i can cover my bulk crickets ort something cause I dont want this to happen and i cant afford pet store crickets-Thanks,
Zach
ps- i cleaned the whole house which i was doing anyway

It is possible it came from your bulk supplier. I would think they are breeeding multiple species of prey items and maybe an escaped roach found it's way into your shipment.

Also very possible it's a "wild" roach, you do after all live in nyc. Even though you may not have roaches yourself, it's quite likely they are around nearby.

I'd just closely monitor it for now and see if another comes along.
