scarface Sep 13, 2003 12:20 PM

since i got my snake two months ago, i decided to take his stool to the vet yesterday, anyways they said that they found worms in him.

so they gave me a medicine called panacur to either give it orally or by injecting it into a mouse.

first off, has anyone evry heard of this medicine, does it work ?

And is there any special way to inject the medicine in the mouse? i'vr never done this so anyone with previous experience would help with comments !

thx

Panacur is the most common wormer used on reptiles... it works very well coupled with good hygiene.

As far as injecting the mouse, just inject it under the skin. The only thing I can imagine may cause problems is if you injected it into the mouse's stomach. The stomach acids may start eating at the panacur... but that is just an idea, and may not even be a concern.

Good luck.

Clever way to do, (avoid needle-feeding stress) but may I suggest that only Panacur is not enought for a true deworming?
If you want to know more about, read what I've post a few days ago, under tilltle "ABOUT EFFICIENT DEWORMING", in this forum and in the general python and general boa forums as well.
Hope it will helps a bit...
