Normal Phase Burm has White spots????

MikeSkipRocks May 17, 2009 08:29 PM

Hi- me again. I drove all the way from Richmond, VA to Asheville, NC. thats almost to the Tenn. border. anywho it was worth it. I got me a Granite a Albino het laby, and a normal het green. All female, all around or over 7 ft.

The normal phase het green, has strange pure White scaled spots in two or three places along its sides, and a few random pure white scales. The previous owner said that some of the het greens get those.

Is that really whats up?? I've not seen it before, Could it be scars? I duno none of mine have any scars.

Also I think its really cool that the granites have purple a tongue. I have an albino granite and had never really paid close attention to the norm/granites. They are really pretty and I hear alot of people prefer them to the albinos of the same morph.

Also Also Does the purple tongue mean that the granite morph and the blond morph on bob clarks site (what ever happend with that??) are somehow connected? I duno the blond was the first one with a purple tongue i saw and thought that it was really kool. what color tounge to the hypo and lucys have?

The norm/het green i picked up the other day. The previous owner said that she had already produced 2 clutches. This animal is obviously to small to breed. At around 9ft long and very lean. She was said to of had two clutches with 30 or so eggs a peice only 8 viable the first round and a few more the second.

Myself and from what I've always heard. You shouldn't let a male get near a girl that size. I don't breed till above 12ft and filled out nicely.

My question is this. Has this female been damaged by breeding this early. If so what can I expect of future clutches.

A questionable purchase but What can I say, the price was right. And she is a very pretty snake.

0.1 13ft Albino HetGranite "Angel" Produced 28 albino and albino granites last year. All Fertile However Lost half the clutch due to incubator malfunction. Hard Lesson to learn.

1.0 9ft Albino Granite "Graffix" Angel's Boyfriend and Professional Escape Artist
Graffix
0.1 7ft Granite "Bell" Just got this beauty of a granite. She is already getting special attention.Bell
0.1 9ft HetGreen "Spot" Named for the Weird White Spot and scales she has on her sides.
Spot The Spot on Spot seems to be part of her pattern not a scar. It runs through the middle of some of her scales and seems to belong there. I think.

0.1 7ft Albino HetLab "Hope" I Hope to prove out her het in a season or two.
Hope
0.1 14ft Normal Burm "Cuddles" Cuddles is another recent addition and is going through a pretty rough shed. She's getting a good bath tonight.

Angel, and Graffix I've had for the past Two Years. Before them I had 4 Other Albino Burms that I was forced to sell due to moving. Cuddles I picked up from a Private owner in Colonial beach, VA with a sweet enclosure with her name on it. Bell, Spot, And Hope I got last weekend from a Breeder in Tenn.

Nice...

I'll bet those white spots are just a pigment aberration. My albino has a few red freckles.

Yeah thats what i'm thinking to. I don't really think is a sign for het green like I was told. A het is just a normal till I see the eggs hatch far as i'm concerned. However I'm selling her to a guy thats guna try and prove her out next year.

Hey do you mind if I ask who the breeder was? I live in North Alabama and am always looking for a good breeder for Burms and retics. If you can send me a message or post the info on here it would be great.
