breeding question

SnakeCharmer77 May 17, 2009 11:54 PM

ok you guys, i know winter and early spring is breeding season for ball pythons....but what about now?
heres why i ask...
i moved my adult female bp into the room where the others are- shes across the room from my adult male.
he was acting hungry before that. so last night i tried feeding him. but he didnt take it and wanted to get out. is it possible that he was interested in going to her? i havent been cooling them or anything- would she even breed if i put him in?
otherwise, i was planning on waiting until this next season to try to breed them.
anyways...thanks yall
best of luck to all who have eggs/gravid girls

I have a male pastel currently breeding with a normal female I have. They will pretty much breed all year from what I've read. It will be their first season breeding, they have locked up several times already. If they are receptive why not? Maybe someone with more experience can chime in. I don't see a down side to this, other than if you have balls breeding at different times of year it can be kind of a hassle.

hmmm wont it be a problem that they are wanting to eat like pigs again now??
and they have been getting warmer, instead of cool?

i will say, i held her and then a couple of hours or so later i held him. and he could still "smell" her on me. he was very interested in what he 'tasted' and then he went into a shed cycle. i did it reversed a few days later and she smelled him and then went into a shed cycle. but then again they had been eating well too.

they will be my first breeding pair- so basically, i dunno what im doing....ahahahahahah... i just know some of the basics.
anyways...someone wanna help me out a little bit here...should i just wait? or give it a go?

thanks bunches!
