Finally another TSK Axanthic Spider!

casnakes May 18, 2009 05:38 PM

Not the best Spider odds in this clutch, I bred my Spider Het Axanthic male to a Het Axanthic female. Axanthic Spiders are proving to be a difficult one for me to produce. Last year I bred the same male to 3 Axanthic females, I got my male Axanthic Spider in the first clutch, the 2nd and 3rd clutches had several slugs in each...anyways, I did manage to pull one out of this first clutch for 2009. The whole clutch is females, thats a first for me. She's a Hottie! Looks to be alot lighter colored than my 2008 male.

I'm liking that light collored girl. That's the cool thing about TSK line, there are light phases and dark phases.

Great job! I still can't get over the way the axanthic spiders look. We are hoping for more VPI axanthic spiders this year as well!

Good luck with the rest of the season!

very nice animal and huge congrats, is there anyway we can get an updated pic on the one you produced last year. I am very interested on how much of the silver coloration stays with the animals as they mature with the spider gene.

Here's some pics of the 2008 Axanthic Spider male taken today outside. He started turning "charcoal" on his sides after just a few sheds. He has held the silver/gray color along his back, but he is barely a year old. I like the contrast from the white on his belly and lower sides into the black and then the way he held the silver/gray along the back. But then again, he's my kid so I gotta love him! Also an outdoor picture of the new female.
