A question

Miss_Ahart May 18, 2009 05:43 PM

We feed her every monday, we just boosted up her meals to two mice a feeding. But something happened today. we got her, her mice and my husband of couse prekilled it, by flicking it over the head. she grabed it by the butt, coiled, then she let go sometime later, and opened her mouth and a few bubbles came out, then it looked like she was swallowing, and opened her mouth a few more times, then ate the mouse from the right way.

-by any chance could she have an RI??

me and my husband think the mouse might off pee'd down her thoat, and she didnt like it too much, could that be it???

please let me know. thanks

I think if the snake had an RI you would have probably noticed something amiss prior to the feeding incident. But it is possible so keep an eye on it, listen for wheezing, head held upright, exc. More than likely (though I do like the pee down the throat idea, different) is that it had drunken recently and the constriction of the mouse caused the water to move up into the throat/mouth. Regardless, keep an eye on it and if you notice different behavior then a vet visit would be in order.
Good luck and don't sweat it too much; probably nothing.
Paul
