Please Help Texas & HCU!

Herp Conservation Unlimited has worked hard to repeal a law past two years ago that Banned the practice of "Road Cruising" for Herps. It was a bad law that was passed for no legitimate reason. Tracy King, Representative TX, introduced a bill in the Texas House of Representatives, HB1500 that would repeal this poor piece of legislation. It has stalled and the best chance of getting it passed is to add the language repealing the law to another bill, as a rider. This is not an uncommon way to get legislation passed. The bill it needs to be attached to is SB3079. Please ask Senator Uresti to urge Senator Hegar, the bill's sponsor (SB3079), to to add the language from HB1500 to SB3079.

Please be professional, polite and to the point. Time is running out. Please do it today. We need to generate hundreds of calls and emails!!

Phone:

Senator Carlos Uresti- 512-463-0119

Script: Please urge Senator Hegar to add the language of HB1500 to SB3079 to reinstate road hunting for reptiles as a legal pursuit. It will be good for the economy and good for Texas.

Thanks for all your help guy but there needs to be two changes.

1.) The Representative that authored HB1500 is Tracy King (not Stacy)

2.) your text is a bit off. We don't want HB1500 as a rider, we just need the language of HB3079 amended to reflect the language of HB1500. It 3079 is also a HB not a SB. So maybe like this:

"Please add the language of HB1500 into HB3079. This law was enacted two years ago without good reason. Road hunting reptiles should not be illegal. Texas has lost tourist dollars and tax base as a result. This practice hurts no one and brings in much needed commerce. Help restore this lost revenue, and a good clean family activity to the State of Texas. Thank you for your consideration."

Again, thank you guys very much for your help!!
