I've been looking forward to this pairing for some time.
These are from my "faded" pair.
More pics as they all come out.

This is the pile I found this morning...

Still got 3 more left to come out in this clutch.
This is the first female out from my other "eastern" clutch.

Ahh.......glad these guys pulled through incubation with no "real problems".
More to come.

Looking great! They are even nicer in the flesh though! I hope some of the others are out today so you can post some pics of the other "special" clutch today! Good work!
I was supposed to be in that position this year, as Tom knows...but don't let anyone tell you a dead rat can't kill a snake

LOL....no.....it was over 9' and the rats were both under 7", not including tails. Had a necropsy done by a qualified reptile vet. He said one of the rat's femurs was broken and (second one to eat) it dug into the heart while passing through, then did it again when it regurged. The heart bled out. That was obvious the next morning with an extremely enlarged heart. I've always wondered , seeing open mouths on dead rats, if the teeth could cause a problem as they went down. Vet said it was a one in a million freak accident. HAD to happen to a 9' female BH instead of one of my MackLotts.....
It should happen to no snake, I LOVE MY Macklotts!!!!

Thanks,

Well, I have 4 adult Macklotts so I don't like it either, but from a monetary position......
You mean...THIS special clutch????????

Now....let me explain....
2 Years ago...I had a clutch from animals..... I bought down here in South Florida....from a locale guy.
From this line of animals.......Tom Keogan hatched Axanthics (as he got some animals from this locale gentleman as well).
I suspected that I might have hets too.
Well, like I said.....I hatched a 100% clutch from my female 2 years ago.
I got NO Axanthics BUT......DID get 3 out of 8 "Black Backs"...(these are the ones with the solid black stripes down their backs)
O.K. Fast forward to this year....another 100% clutch....I was totally expecting to see more Black Backs.......and I get THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was 3 in a clutch of 9....one of the Axanthics crawled out and died. It was badly deformed along the spine.
What do you guys think about this? Have any of you heard about het animals....not having "said trait" in the clutch....only to prove it later?
Needless to say....I'm still in shock!
D.
Here are all the animals from the faded pair...
Females...

Males...

These are going to be smokin' and I'm going to keep them all..hahaha.....mumumhhahahahahaha.
D.
I have heard of two het albino boa's being bred together and out 21 babies no albinos, the next year they got the "expected" results. I have bred het albino rat snakes and out of 11 eggs no albinos, the female double clutched on her own laying 4 eggs, all where albinos. Odds are just that odds, so you really never know, many people probably think they got screwed with het's when they really didn't, punnett squares are not even close to an exact science.
