Baby Spur Thigh Not Eating, PLEASE HELP!

kyleigh May 20, 2009 02:40 PM

I have a baby spur thigh that I purchased a few months ago. He was the most active when i purchased him, and now all he does is sleep. He almost nevr eats, or drinks. I dont even think that he can open his eye anymore. He walks with them closed... I have 2 other spurs and 1 leopard all about the same age and size. Everyone else is doing great! They eat greens and tort. food everyday, and they are outside almost all day long in the Florida sun. Please if anyone can give me any advice...

Thanks

From what I hear, shut eyes indicates either infection or severe dehydration. Soaking the tortoise 1-2 times a day might help, or giving it eyedrops specifically for tortoises, but I'd reccomend taking it to the vet if theres no improvement.

Thanks so much for your help. I will try to soak him more tomorrow. I did soak him a bit today but he really wanted nothing to do with it.

Thanks again...
