I have tried a couple times with captives and road kills. The eggs have always gone bad after about a week or so. But that has not stopped me from trying.

almost all of the time they will be dead also...when the female dies, they die, right away almost

I have a friend that has taken eggs from roadkilled turtles...and yes he had one box turtle hatch, so it's not impossible...

the eggs you have look like they were not 100% ready to start with, so that will make it worse....

good luck...if they go bad, it will be quickly...so you won't have to wait long....might turn greenish (to buegreen or yellow) inside real fast...and they will smell badly...

...have fun.......never stop trying though.....

I've done it many times with turtles. It even sometimes works with lizards-I've had veiled cham eggs haych fine after being removed from a dead (effbound) female.

But snakes-almost never, for some reason. My own theory is that they are not adequately shelled until right at the moment of hatching, as they leave the oviduct.
