It has been probably 6 months since I have had my nile. He acts like a nile and hates everything which I have respected for the past 6 months. I can sneak a peek every now and then but if our eyes meet he is gone. He has grown exponentially as well, went from eating crickets to pinkies to fuzzies to adult mice to 2 adult mice a day in a matter of 6 months actually, he is a little over a foot now and I can't wait for him to get bigger and bigger.
ANYWAY, the breakthrough was that he let me feed him right off the tongs today, and he preceded to let me WATCH him eat. That was the first time I have ever actually SEEN him eat, usually I lay the food out and it eventually disappears. I think trust is being established and this was a major step in our relationship!
This can serve as an example for all of you that post the 'OMG my monitor is mean and won't let me handle him!' threads (which I used to do as well) until Sidbarvin convinced me otherwise, and look what happen. IT IS WORKING.
