I can has baby lizard!

el_toro May 22, 2009 03:49 PM

Guess what, peeps! I have a baby collared! AAAAAAH!! They were three days overdue and I was beginning to fear they had died in the shell. Maybe the others have, I don't know. But I have one new baby!!! It's in the little cage now. It's still a tiny bit teetery, but I didn't want it to get hurt in the gaps in the incubator. I can NOT believe how tiny it is!

Such a relief! And I'm hopeful for two more of the eggs. There's one other that I don't expect to hatch.

I know how much you wanted those eggs to hatch! Take LOTS of pics!

A nicer person, lol, I'm so happy that Rory left ya some kids, even if it's this ONE, it is gorgeous and ever so special since Mom died. A big super duper Congratulations also since you said you never got any kind of eggs to hatch, well ya did now, hehehehee Awesome

I have often wondered about Rory's eggs and I'm so happy for you! That babe has some great markings!

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

First baby is mostly hiding - moving around looking for better hiding spots, but not bouncy.

AND...this morning we have another baby (with yolk sac still attached to both him and the egg, but he's very perky), and a head poking out of the egg I thought was bad! The fourth (and last) egg is showing signs of maybe hatching, too!

No picture yet. Sorry!

I just can't tell you how happy I am for you! I'm still amazed at how fast Ripcord grew up and did his part.

He's such a big boy! I wish I had a good camera and some photographic know-how - my crummy pictures just don't show how cool he is. When he comes in from his outdoor cage, he's sooooo greeny-blue! His cheeks are yellow and the spots on his cheeks and chin get super dark - he's a very handsome young man! Looks a lot like his papa.

I'm hoping the babies might get Rory's pattern and Ripcord's color!

A couple, anyway. The one in the incubator is awful, but it's dark in there and I'm unwilling to use a flash.

Baby #1

Baby #2 & #3 (Baby 3 is fully out of the egg now, too!)
