very nice, Jeff
It's funny you mention her being "in the blue"..when I got home this evening I had an amel laying on 14 eggs and she was going into shed. She was almost purple...lol
Hopefully you will get a few more as nice as the male!!!
Good luck

The one that laid yesterday was about 10 days late and I still have an emoryi that is about 14 days late.
My other emoryi only laid one good egg and if this one doesn't lay that means I only have the one emoryi egg in hopes to get more albino emoryis. The odds aren't very high, huh?...lol

Jeff My Miami phase took about 13 days after shed and a buddy his miami was almost 15 it seems to be kinda normal this year.
Tom
Yeah. All of mine are running late. I'm checking them twice a day and each time the anxiety level goes up a notch. If I don't see eggs soon, I'm going to go crazy!

I think Jeff may be going through what I went through.
My amel didn't lay until her "second" shed.
My snakes usually lay 7 to 14 days after their pre lay shed, on average.
Now several of my snakes have been way past that 14 day mark.
I don't really consider them late until they go past the 14 day mark.
The amel went 24 days after her pre lay shed and laid while in the blue for her next shed.
But the good news is...the eggs are fine and my emoryi I was worried had resorbed her eggs, laid yesterday. I think this was 29 days after her pre lay shed and she is going opaque now.
7 good egsg..whoo whoo.. At least now I have 8 eggs in which to get an albino or two...fingers crossed.
It varried but almost all went to the 14 day mark or beyond.
I don't think they liked their lay boxes so they basically held out as long as possible.
I used plain sphagnum moss as a lay medium this season.
Last season I had accidentally picked up sphagnum peat and I think it held warmth better then regular sphagnum.
They all laid pretty much on time last season.
I think I will try the sphagnum peat as a lay medium again next season to see what happens.
sorry so long and sorry to hijack your thread, Jeff.
Especially considering this is all just speculation

Thanks guy! I'm in central Va.(Lunenburg Cty.) Jeff
Jeff its crazy but my miami that just laid is in the blue it must of been going into post lay when she laid... lol
Tom
That's what I'm thinking also!Mine was kinda late dropping eggs compared to the normal time frame seen here. She laid 14 days after her pre-egg shed. Good luck with your babies!! Jeff
Jeff- I have had females lay in blue before, and even the one this year lay prior to ever going into blue. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for when they will clutch. So, I have gotten into the habit of putting in nest boxes before they are due to go blue. Its good that you checked on her, found the eggs in time.
Congrats on the nice clutch
