Oh, she didn't! And WT girl news . . .

Rosebuds May 22, 2009 06:53 PM

Little Mamma is digging AGAIN! I can see the eggs in her sides! She laid on the 5th of April, on the 5th of May, and now I don't think she will make the 5th of June. I would be worried, but she is the biggest fattest pig collared on the planet! LOL! Now She is gonna take possession of the mound and I guess I'll have to set Fancy Dancer up in her own birthing room. Good Grief!

On a less happy note, my second wt female to be gravid is at the vets office. She passed a third of a very dry, gummy egg over night, and my attempts to aspirate the egg so that it would pass failed miserably. So, she has had an enema and a shot of antibiotics at the vets office, and he says she looks better. If she doesn't pass the egg and is still alive by morning, he will do surgery and remove the egg. The good news is that the egg was so dried up inside that there isn't likely t be any leakage of egg contents.

I just don't know what went wrong with these wt girls! I know that they didn't eat as well as they should have and didn't have the meat on their bones like Mamasita. The third one is now ovulating and is a huge pig, but she is also much less stress prone and probably younger. I don't know . . .

The wt girl is having surgery this afternoon to remove the rotten egg. I haven't heard any news.

I am still waiting on the first set of eggs, too. They are at 48 days now, and one has tripled in size! If it hatches, I bet its a big ole chip off the ole Tayo block!

Aww, poor girl! I hope she comes out OK!!

Crazy eggs - make me nuts, all this waiting!

I have her home to beef her up, get her hydrated and give her batril injections for a few days. Then we will cut on Wednesday evening if she doesn't pass that hardened egg on her own. I will keep yall posted.

Mamasita quit digging for the moment, and Fancy Dancer looks like a beached, bloated whale! LOL!
