Here's his rendition of my first Calhoun county, Texas speckled king. Every scale carved with a dremel, made out of an oak sapling, the head and neck are actually a fork of the tree, all one piece and damned if he didn't get a speck on every scale! Pretty grand piece of work!

Dang it, those were supposed to be upright shots, lol! The first shot shows the scale detail fairly well.

Yep...The scutes and bellie scales were more orange than yellow...

Thank you Michelle,
It is an exact replica of one of my holdback thayeri from 2002....It was a male with an orange head and tail...The ground color was a lighter orange/yellow....The Stick was carved in 2004...
The only slight mistake he made was the white ventral scales, but cool nonetheless....

His name is Thomas Burnham....I don't think I would have remembered, but his signature is carved in the bottom.

Regards,

Here's a couple of old pictures of him...I think he was a 2003 hatch rather than a 2002....at least that was what the pictures are titled...
His parents were both from Kim Caldwell (Vivid line). Orange leonis Sire and orange/buckskin MSP Dam....

Hey Michelle, Is that "Orange Cheek" my old friend........Mike

MichelleRogers May 25, 2009 08:16 PM

Mike, yes thats him. He is still my and the kids favorite. I dont know if he is a better sire or pet..lol..love the photo of the uro's. I have been bitten by the lizard bug too.
I got a few argentine tegus and now a water monitor.
The water monitor is very tame but I love the personality of the tegus.
