Plastic bin heating Question

I have a plastic bin for my snake and i need proper heating while i wait to get another cage what kind of heating can i give without melting the plastic?

via what method?

Heat pad or tape on a rheostat or thermostat. If it melts the plastic you obviously are also cooking your snake.
