What Types Of Cactus Can I Use???

calbright83 May 23, 2009 11:58 PM

I have been searching the internet to no avail. I am in the process of installing an outdoor tortoise pen for my 22 month old Sulcata. I keep seeing these beautiful Cactus plants at the store, but I do not know if there are any Cactus' that I need to/should avoid. Does anyone have any information or know of a good site?

Thanks,
Christina

If you look in the classified section under food/feeders/supplements you will find several people selling opuntia pads. These are very good for your sulcata and fairly easy to grow in the enclosures. I always go with captive bred wildlife foundations pads, mention to him that you are trying to grow them in the pen. Hope this helps

Christina,

I first ordered my Opuntia pads for my sulcatas from
www.rivenrock.com. I'm now growing my own from the first order I made, as they are very easy to grow---just stick them in the ground. They are having a good sale right now.
