Constipation?

domingos May 24, 2009 11:36 AM

My '07 BP last went to the bathroom on April 4 after a shed.

Since then she ate (prekilled):

April 19 (1 mouse)
April 27 (2 mice)
May 2 (2 mice)
May 9 (2 mice)
May 18 (2 mice) *she's "afraid" of rats

I gave her a warm soak yesterday for about half an hour and mist the cage every day. Temps range from 95F (basking) to low 80's (cool end). There are also a few spots (55 Gal.) that dip to mid-high 70's.

I checked the vent, and there is no type of discharge. No bubbles coming from mouth and eyes are clear.

When younger, she has gone 4-5 mice without going. I was only feeding her one mouse per feeding

What's going on?

0.1 Python Regius (Ball Python)
1.0 Heterodon nasicus nasicus (Western Hognose)
1.0 Elaphe guttata (amenalistic cornsnake)
0.1 Epicrates cenchria maurus (Columbian Rainbow Boa)

My guess is she's not poopin' 'cause you're not feeding her enough. I find that mouse-eaters poop far less often as their nutritional requirements are barely being met due to the smaller size of food items. Get her on rats and she'll start pooping at a more acceptable frequency for you...
