Can I use this to hang from ceiling to house the reptisun bulb and a full spectrum flourescent from reptile uv? Will it dilute the effects of the reptisun?
Thanks Beth

Any fixture is fine including the one you are considering as long as there is no lens between the bulb and Beardie. I get all my fixtures from Home Depot.
Thanks...the different bulbs ok together? Take care Beth
I don't use double bulb fixtures but some here do. One UVB and one standard bulb for extra light is fine. Mine are mounted inside my enclosures which are white so one bulb gives enough light.

Actually the enclosures in the picture each have 2 single bulb fixtures. They are large enclosures and needed 2 fixtures to give UVB throughout. The outer columns are 4' wide by 3.5' deep and the center column is 5' wide x 3.5' deep.
You use bulbs? or you use the florescent strip lights? I am looking to craft something like you have? I got 3 beards and want to get a few more.
In the picture each enclosure has (2) 36" straight fluorescent Zoo Med 10.0 bulbs.
You have some really nice setups. I have a collection of different tanks, most are reptile aquariums so hanging lights above the tanks & off the screen tops would be beneficial I think. Thanks for the pic...Take care Beth
I used to do that too. I always hated having to move things off the screen to get access to the animal. Here is an old picture. I mounted a shelf and then hung reptile hoods from the bottom of it.

I love your set up. Top notch!
Thanks. That's actually only 9 out of my 22 enclosures plus 3 nest boxes.
I mount the double florescent fixtures to the underside of the top of the cage for my dragons. One UVB tube and one full spectrum tube. I also use the fixtures that have a power cord already attached (can plug it into any standard household plug or power bar). Be sure to get this type, as the others have to be wired directly into your household power. (or wired to a cord)
My cages are 5'x2'x2' or 5'x2'x18" and I use a 4' long fixture for my uvb lights.
If you are suspending your fixtures over the top of glass tanks which also have a screen...you are better off just resting the fixture on the screen directly. Or, build your own top so you have part that is wood, so you can attached the fixture to it directly.
Another alternative, especially for smaller tanks (that are not housing adults of course) is to use undercabinet fixtures. These screw on, so can be much easier to mount on a solid top, or partially solid. Just remove the bulb it comes with as well as the plastic cover over the bulb.
