breeding age for males?

I have a female het albino ready this next winter for breeding but the male is a year or two behind her. He was captive hatched July 7, 2007 and is a little over four foot long. How much longer do I need to wait until I can expect succesful breeding from him? Shannon

He could go this fall. THe older the better, but some young males have the "will" to do the job.
