Question on genetics...

MatthewLee May 26, 2009 06:06 AM

Does anyone have an idea of what you'd get if a normal corn and an albino motley paired up? Thanks in advance

The offspring would all look like normals - they would be het for albino and motley.

I am sure Tim covered this already, but you will get normals het for amel motley. In order to get either amels or motley, the normal would have to carry these genes. It is highly likely that the normal is Het for something. So, it is likely you may get a surprise.

Thanks for the info. At the moment this pair's too young to breed, but now I have something to look forward to when they get older.
