Splendida Clutch

guyergenetics May 26, 2009 11:11 PM

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. I've been posting in the Corn Snake forum for a while now and I'm mostly a Corn guy.

Over the last few years I've gained a strong interest in Lampropeltis. My female Desert King layed 9 eggs for me last night.

Besides the 1.1 Splendida that I bred this year I have:

1.2 Mex Black Kings
1.2 Eastern Chain Kings
2.3 Cal Kings

These others are younger animals and should breed in 2011.

Anyway, I'm glad to join the King world and I look forward to being a part of this forum.

Thanks,

Justin

Hey, what's up, from the other forums. That is an awesome looking splendida. What is the history of that snake? Best of luck w/ the clutch.

DARIN!!!

Hey, there's a friendly face I know! It's damn good to 'see' you again brother.

The history of the Splendida is kind of unknown I would say. I bought them second hand from a friend of mine some years back when they were babies and raised them myself. I don't know who originally produced them.

Nice! Congrats, I have a pair of Vivid line Sonoran Black Socks (splendida). I was planning to breed them this year, but they went on a major hunger strike a while back. Now they're finally eating again, but I'll probably wait until next year to breed them.

I want to say thank you all for the warm welcome!

I do definitly LOVE my Splendida pair! Just some awesome snakes and talk about an out of this world feeding response!!!!

I'll probably hold back a couple of the offspring and purchase others to breed to them in the future to avoid inbreeding. I really don't know what morphs of Splendida are out there as I've spent the majority of the last few years specializing in Corns, but I'm probably going to be after some of the morphs to breed into my stock to produce hets and then bring them back out in a future generation. At least that is how the plan looks right now.
