Chams on/near Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania???

Brock Sep 13, 2003 07:25 PM

I know there are chameleons in Tanzania, but are there any particular species inhabiting Mount Kilimanjaro? My buddy is going there with his cousin and his friends next summer, and he wanted to know if I wanted to come.
Having a passion for chameleons, I said 'obviously'. Haha, but I want to know if anyone knows what species live on the actual mountain or in the surrounding area.

Ch. rudis sternfeldi, Ch. dilepis, Ch. gracilis , B. tavetanum and R. kerstenii inhabit the area. You could possibily also run into Ch. bitaeniatus. Our summer is their winter which is not the best time of year for chameleons though.

SWEET! Thanks.

I don't expect an answer to this one, but does anyone know any other reptiles that live around there too?

Thanks,
-Brock
