just got a new gray-banded a few months back, ive only had ball pythons before so i wasn't sure about the size/growth rate of kings. i adopted her from a friend who says she is around 2 years old, yet she is only around 26 inches and not very wide. they stated they fed her half a fuzzy once a week (seems strange, they are idiots though) since ive had her ive been feeding 2 pinks twice a week, and ive noticed a nice gain in weight, but im tepid about feeding her either more often or larger prey. the pinks seem to be about the same girth as her, should i feed larger prey or the smaller more often, or would you say im doing enough now to get her to spurt out a few more inches. cheers in advance.

At 26" your alterna should be eating hopper sized mice.. Pink mice are fine for hatchlings, but they do not offer the nutritional value of larger prey items. You should always feed snakes the largest meals they can easily take.

Good luck!

Totally agree, mine are night feeders, they usually hide from the hoppers at daytime and jump 'em in the dark! The male is growing bolder lately, stalking them and eating them 1/2 the time during the day.
