I just rescued a black tree monitor the other day, I dont have much experience keeping this species so I was hoping someone more knowledgeable could answer my questions. He's almost full grown but he's missing a little more than half his tail, i'm guessing that black tree monitors aren't an exception and their tails don't grow back? The specimen is obviously wild caught,I was told that the previous owner had him de-wormed but his poo looks kind of funny so i'm wondering if I should take him to the vet to be sure. He also has a lot of retained shed which I think might have played a part in him loosing his tail, it also looks like he might lose a few digits if he doesn't shed properly soon, i've been soaking him and making sure he has the right humidity in his cage. If anyone has any advice please let me know. I'll post some pictures of him later on.
