Gotta Make Him Go

jaymiller242 May 27, 2009 08:36 PM

Hi Guys, I know I have seen posts of this before but I am not sure how to go back and look them up so here it is. I have a little Super Pastel male that has passed a bit of urate but is not passing the big turds for lack of a better way to put it. It has been a VERY long time and I can see it backing up in him. I have always been able to take care of this with my other snakes by giving them a warm soak if it was ever a problem and its not except with this little guy. I have to know what some of the other time proven methods are or I fear this little guy will stay so impacted he wont make it. Thanks, Jay

Jay, put him in some warm water deep enough where he has to swim and make him swim. This has always worked for me.Last resort you can gently palpate out the blockage.Terry

Gosh Terry, that is a good start. I usually soak them if needed like I said but I will put him into something deeper and watch him for awhile. I hate to be putting pressure on him in anyway but is it better to do that than to try to lift his vent scales with something? Thanks, I will give the swimming a try before checking back. Jay
