for several reasons. Primary being parasite and illness control, and overall health/feeding monitoring of the individual animals. Even if all appear healthy, you never know. One may be harboring a non-threatning parasite that the other could catch if exposed to long to feces, etc. The second is dealing with aggressive feeders. Even corns can have mistakes when aggressively feeding. Plus having to deal with two aggressive feeders flying out the box simultaneously would not be cool!!
I don't do that at all, with one exception-a pair of normal okeetee corns I've had for many years. And my experience with them illustrates why it's not the best idea. First, feeding is a hassle-you have to carefully hand each one its mouse, then stick around to make sure one doesn't finish early and get in a fight with the other one over its mouse. Second, they breed as soon as they are ready in the spring, and it's more difficult to determine exactly when to expect a clutch from the female-I just keep a laying box in with them from March to July (when her second clutch generally arrives)...
All of our other 200 breeder colubrids are maintained individually-I'd hate to have to treat them all like that!

The Avalanche has already started-it is too late for the pebbles to vote....
I don't because I found having the male in for too long can stress the female out. Last year I made the mistake of leaving a male in too long with a female and she developed a ri. Not fun.

I have kept sand boas together year round, and large constrictors at times, but not corns or kings, Brad
all my snakes are seperate, except when I want them to breed. I have never done it any other way, so can't give feedback for keeping them together.

I wouldn't even ever think about considering it.
about five years back i had two female corns that i housed together, they did ok, but i also aquired them from people that had then together since hatchlings.
I found it interesting that people in the Kingsnake forum are condoning it, and the corn people arent. I mean i would think corns would be better to co habitat that kings, personally i keep both.
anyway thanks for paticipating, have a good night all!

I lost track with 200 corns alone.. I don't house anyone together, regardless of rat snake, king or milk.. When I see this question pop up, I am generally hesistant to respond, generally because of your last response, which seems to provoke an arguement..

i am not sure what you mean by my last response provoking an argument. sorry if you feel that way, but that is far from my intentions. sorry

The whole deal about co habbing generally stirs the pot rather well.. Most times when I see Co habbing posts I generally ignore them...
I have spent way to much time and money to try to cohab and have stress issues arise.. Which is generally the response your going to get from most people.. However when your making the effort to say this side says they cohab but this side doesn't, it sounds like its an attempt to get two sides argueing to me... *shrugs* Might not have been your intent, but in some ways thats what I got out of your post..

Hey Tim, again sorry for the misunderstanding, i guess what i should of added, i just find it interesting that snakes that are known to eat other snakes are said to be fine together while nice docile snakes are not, that is all, i am not co-habiting my collection, i just though it was interesting feed back to see. not trying to start and static, i like this forum too much.

I apologize for sounding like a dick.. Its just one of them debates that gets fierce and most people rarely back down from their opinion, and sometimes things get out of hand.. I appreciate you not taking me to offense, I think its better for the community for people not to butt heads or be buttheads..
