egg trouble!! can anyone help me?

mountain_goat May 24, 2003 08:39 PM

I have successfully hatched 2 Uroplatus henkeli and one Uroplatus sikorae by keeping my eggs on moist vermiculite at room temp. But all of a sudden, this time 2 of my 5 henkeli eggs developed a long crack across its surface about a week ago and now one of them suddenly has some white fuzzy mold growing along the crack line. I know this is very bad and may have been caused by too much humididty, but is there anything I can do to save it? I have never had this problem before and have no idea how to get rid of the mold without hurting my egg. Any suggestions would be a great help. Thanks.
Jon

try gold bond antifungal powder. if the fungus is white and fuzzy theres not much hope in my opinion. what i do with my sikores is put a fan on them 2 times a day. even though it at room tempeurature, there should be proper ventilation or else anything at that high of humidity will get sick. these are just opinons and suggestions. by they way what was the trick for your sikores to lay eggs? mine would call and breed but no eggs. maybe the boys are shooting blanks.....
