Personally I think 1/8 to 3/16 crickets are the best plan.

I find that pinhead or 1/16th" crickets are best to start off with then after a few weeks give 1/8" size and tiny Dubia Roaches since Rankins are smaller than bearded dragon hatchlings. I feed mine Phoenix Worms as well. Use either size x-small to start then move up to size small after a few weeks. They really enjoy them.

if they are smaller then the width of their head then between crickets and roaches you are good to go... I know that if your are looking for the streamlined method then crickets are the way to go. If you are looking for another way then roaches are the way to go. If you use both your are good to go. I know that if you have roaches and feed them to produce then you will be maybe better off then crickets. I love crickets minus the waste and smell. I love dubia roaches for the ease and less smell and less work. I bet that if people get over the fear of the word roaches and used them for feeders they would overtake crickets. Dubia roaches reproduce with ease less small no sounds just make sense. Everyone says well crickets get fat quick to feed your beardires but unless you don't feed your roaches to reproduce they are already fat with everything.
