Great Shots Todd....Both are holding their orange well. Should be impressive adults.
Great Job!

Are you speaking of my reduced black project I was working on since 2000? I have none of those anymore. And...as far as I am concerned Michelle has the adults to achieve now what I was trying back then...
What I wanted (concerning this thread) is to see if there where any more Hallow saddled thayeri out there anymore. Reduced saddle color (red or orange). Where the ground color replaces the saddle color.....

Thanks for all the photos Jim...They are REAL nice.
Those are some awesome Splitbands....Not quite the same as I was speaking of though...The "hallow" saddles are slightly different...at least with my eyes...LOL
Your Splitbanded specimens have open borders laterally and many have double borders (inner and outer).
The first one pictured from the Bodners looks the closest.
I would prize every one of those if they were in my collection though. Years back I was working with many Splitbanded Mex Mex....Wish I had Splitbanded Thayeri as well.
Do have anything cooking in the incubator over there?
Would love to see what hatches for you this season....You got a great collection for sure Jim.

"Poor planning and procrastination on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part....."
John,
Thanks for the compliments, very sincerely appreciated...I selected them for their genetics (bloodline) and patterns specifically - Key Hole (KH) and Double Split-Saddle (DSS). Regarding the DSS, Joe Forks sent me a photo of Hobart Smith's, 1944, trio of specimens...That's where I first saw the DSS pattern. Since these were preserved, wild collected specimens, the DSS pattern is a pattern observed in the wild. Besides, I just think it's the most "exquisite" Leonis pattern (just my opinion), followed by the KH pattern.
To me, the DSS is more than a split band as there is a "black-oval" within the band itself...I corresponded with Tim @ Vivid and he said that it was a pattern that was "delicate" and went "away" for a while...Which has sparked several questions in my mind about this & provides fuel-to-the-fire for breeding projects in the future...
I wasn't sure exactly what you were talking about so I just threw those out there to see what you were talking about - the KH pattern...These have varying degrees of saddle structure that includes either a Vanishing Center (VC) or not (NVC). Over time with the ontogenetic change, the VC tends to reveal the ground color with a slight "line-of-color" down the center of the scale. Just my observation on my specimens and a few others that I've seen posted here...
Yes, I have one clutch of eggs in the incubator (at least 13 eggs that I can see-Don't know how many are under the clump). The female is a first timer, so we'll see how things turn out. So far, the eggs have remained viable (laid: 05/25/09). I'm waiting on the other females to lay...
I'll post photos depending how things go...
First post - All three are 2008 females...They have not undergone any ontogenetic change thus far...They have a progressive VC (degree varies) that has resulted in a sort of "tri-color" DSS...Kind of neat to see in life. ID#'s TF08-101, TF08-102 & TF08-103...
Second post - 2006 female that has undergone ontogenetic change from dark brown buckskin to tan/beige buckskin...The ground color within the saddle underwent the same change. ID# TF06-101
Third Post - 2007 male from Jonel that underwent a dramatic ontogenetic change from green/gray to silver/gray. He may turn green later on but I don't expect this to occur until he's about 34-36 months (if he does-I kind of like the silver/gray myself). The VC change has been slight and hasn't changed much...The Salmon/orange color within the saddle has intensified though. ID# TM07-041
Fourth post - Both are 2007 sibling specimens from Mike. The KH is the female (the one you were talking about) and the DSS is the male. For the KH, the VC has been slight and she has undergone a slight ontogenetic change from off-white to white/gray. The DSS, the center of his band has always been as you see it in the photo...Ground color. His ontogenetic change was from a yellow/white to off-white...ID#'s TF07-081 & TM07-081
Later,
Jim.
Here's another photo of him a few months later...The ontogenetic change is in progress...Yellow "hue" dorsally and the off-white appearing from the ventral scales up...I expect a gray "hue" to develop on the lateral panels with maturity...He's much more "whitish" now...

John,
Thanks man...Me too. They are a box of Thayeri eggs...Why "hybridize" them?
I don't have anything directly from Chris @ Artisitic Investments...I have 1.1 from Jonel (the silver/gray KH male & his sister) that are F1 from Chris B @ Artistic Herps x Bob @ Sierra Herps...
That male you're referring to was from Jonel @ Selective Propagations...
I hope this is a good year...Next year is going to be even more fun...
Later,
Jim.
PS: You've got some nice specimens as well man...There's never enough money...Ha! Ha!
PSS: This girl will be introduced to one of the guys...

Nice breakdown there Jim, I am really liking a lot of your stuff, be sure and post those hatchlings, still waiting on Mildred and Wilma, I am sure Wilma is going to drop any day but Mildred looks like she didn't take.
-----
Todd Hughes
Todd,
Thanks man...Which one of yours is the dark Buckskin from Chris?
She's nice...Funny thing is that you don't see many dark Buckskin males though...Another scratch-your-head moment, eh?
Later,
Jim.

CSRAJim
Mildred is the dark buckskin, I just got a clutch of 13 from the Mexican bairdi tonight and the girls are in sinque with her as far as timing, maybe in the next day or so... The bairdi eggs were very small, but viable...bummer but is okay, just have to treat 'em like milks, lol! here's Mildred and Wilma...

Mike,
Hey man, how are things going for you?
MB's Thayeri v. Chris Colubrids...That's cool. Have you updated your website? I'll need to update my link so I can see the beauties that reside up there with you...
My male from you is doing fine (beauty-thanks)...He's taking washed/split-heads from the entrance to his hide box...He'll soon be "with-the-program"...
Later,
Jim.
PS: That 2005, Rick Millspaugh female that I acquired from you is the one that laid her clutch on 05/25/09...She was bred to this guy from SerpentDan...Thanks Dan.

Todd,

Of course I'm French, can't you tell by my outrageous French accent? What are you doing in England? Mind your own business you silly English pig-dog...I @#$% in your direction...I wave my @#$%^&* at your auntie...
RUN AWAY (as the chicken flies through the air to land on Patsy)!!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhh, you've said the word that the knights of nee can not stand to hear...
Who art thou who can summon fire with neither flint nor tinder? Some call me.....Tim.
LOOK! There 'e is...Where? Behind the rabbit? No, 'e is the rabbit. YOU SORRY SOT! You got us worked up over a harmless rabbit. Look, he's got a mean streak a mile wide...Look at the bones! Boris, go chop his head off. Right sir, one rabbit stew coming right up. LOOK! eeeeeee (rabbit leaps and bites off Boris' head) Oh, I tried to tell but 'es just a harmless little bunny...(after the failed frontal assualt where, 5 no 3 sir, knights were lost)...Can't risk another frontal assualt...Sire, doesn't brother Maynard have the holy hand grenade of Antioch? Why yes, BROTHER MAYNARD, bring up the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch...
Yep, that movie just kills me man...

I would love to start another reduced black project...I could just get a pair from Michelle and produce them right away...But I think it is funner to produce your own by line breeding...Don't you?
