Found a corn snake and have a couple ?'s

svt-sinister May 31, 2009 09:41 AM

I just found this real nice corn in my patio today. Its about 13-15 inches long. I went to pick him up and he didnt even try to bite me or anything, he is very friendly and i would like to keep him. My question is, i have a 50 gallon tank in my garage i would like to use, would this cage be to big for him. Its about 3.5feet long and 2 feet deep ?

Yes, that would be way to big for a baby corn. Babies can get stressed in something to big. Better to start it in a 5-10 gallon size tank.

They also like things to hide in. Mine love paper towel rolls when they were babies.

Just my 2 cents

Of all the bull I have heard, this has to take the cake. Snakes don't like cages. You can't have a cage that is too big, only too small. If you provide your snake with a hide, clean water and keep the cage clean, your snake will be fine. In nature, they don't live in cages. The truth is, they don't like being confined.
