Slugged out...

BoaGal May 31, 2009 01:00 PM

Well, my girl was due over two months ago and was still looking big and hugging the heat. Woke up this morning and found this. She was still guarding them intensely! Striking at everything.

Would have been my first BCI litter. I'm still hoping I have another gravid girl due in a month or so, but I'm not so sure about her. Good luck to everyone else!

Sounds like she is gonna go another round for how defensive she
is. There is always next year, I hope you well

Sorry to hear and see that Rachel...I hate sweet potatoes

That is truly one of the most disappointing sights that we as keepers/breeders but you have to be thankful for the health of the mother to me that is the most important out come.

Good luck with the second girl

I think the male I put in with her must have been too young. He was 19 or 20 months old at the time I think. I saw copulation so assumed he was getting the job done. Pairing was het albino x albino.

I'm definitely excited to try again next year. Looks like she had about 30 slugs, no final count yet. Since she wouldn't let me near them I just let them be for now. Will try again tomorrow.

Sorry to hear this...but glad mom is ok...

It's always sad to see the mother pushing the slugs around, to try to get them moving...they don't seem to realize there are no babies...

Hopefully things will go better with your other girl...

Sorry to hear it. I hope mom is doing well. I came home to 21 slugs last month so I know how you feel. Good luck with your next litter.
