08 NC locality Blk Rat

Here's a few pics for Monklot(Brad) & anyone else that wants to check out my 08 Montogomery co. North Carolina Blk rat, that I picked up from Uwharrie reptiles last year. These pics show the progression of how black he's turned in around 9 months of time. First pic around August 08, last two pics shot today. He is just about solid black on the last third of his body. I would imagine the rest of him will be solid black withing the next nine months of time. Steve

Nice progression! Nice snake too. I love black rats. Thanks for sharing the pics with locale information. I'd love to put something together with locale and pattern info. Like a website for posting pics and where the specimen was found. Black Rat pattern seems to vary by locale. I will be thinking on this,,,,,

Awesome. Just like I like 'em Yeah, a web site similar to the Eastern Kingsnake site would be great for black rats (and other rats for that matter).

I couldn't agree more Mike.

Excellent idea. Just like the other poster said, something simular to the Eastern king resource site, except for North American ratsnakes.
