I'm sorry to hear about the ones that didn't make it. It's hard to have a first litter turn out this way. Breeding boas can be a very humbling experience.

At least, you got 3 perfect babies. They're BEAUTIFUL!!

You also know the mom is going to be fine. She deserves a nice meal. Hopefully she's got her appetite back.

Please keep us updated on how they do.

being my first litter, and i was uncertain about her being gravid, i prepared myself for anything, because i do know anything can happen.

when i noticed she wasnt being protective i felt like something was wrong.

im happy she is ok, she went blue 3 hours later is that normal?

im still going to feed, she normally will eat while in shed.

i think things happen for a reason i had a friend who wanted all of the litter, he moved out of state..... another friend asked me if i was going to sell the 3, i replied no im keeping them...LOL

I'm glad to see you got three nice little babies out of this deal.
I can't even speculate what might of happened
to cause that type of deformity
Looks like alot of yolk , crazy and the stomachs never zipped up

It sounds like you have a good attitude about breeding your boas. Since breeding boas isn't an exact science, you need to be prepared for the possibility of a less than perfect litter. Hopefully, your next litter will be better.

Boas do go into shed cycle after giving birth. Normally it's more like a week to 10 days after the babies arrive.

Since this is your first litter, I'm sure these babies will be very special to you. I can understand why you'd want to keep them all. I know that's what I'd do.

thank you for that.

i didnt know what to expect and i tried to prepare for everything i could think of, although i dont think i thought of this particular experience, but shes doing well, i have 3 beautiful baby boas and have learned a little something.

i think 07 breeding cornsnakes and having several eggs go bad then losing a few hatchlings i learned to be prepared.

only option i have is to raise these 3 to be the beautiful boa i know and love so much.

i forgot to mention they have been nick named snappy, bitey and chomp....

i think its a pretty good sign on their first day they are striking. even though it is kind of cute.
