egg incubation temp advise

wlpython Jun 02, 2009 07:40 PM

I have Bredli eggs and ball eggs in the same incubator (in separate egg boxes). I am using a helix DBS1000 to control the heat. My problem is that if i set the temp to 89 on the helix the egg boxes in the incubator hover around 86.9-87.3. fearing that is too cold i up the setting on the helix to 90 and the egg box temps. go up to 88.1-88.7. I have seen so many different temps in different litrature i don't know where i should be. I would feel great at 87.5 to 88 but cant get it to stay there. am i just being to critical (OCD)? Thanks,

In my opinion, 88 to 89 F is perfect for these two species, as long as your temperature measurement device is accurate. Make sure the humidity is high as well, at least 90%. Good luck with these.
